Mission
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid provides free lawyers and free representation to:
- Lowest-income residents of central Minnesota.
- Senior residents (60 and older) of central Minnesota.
- Minnesotans with disabilities.
- Minnesotans seeking taxpayer assistance.
- Minnesotans seeking affordable health care coverage.
Commitment
We are dedicated to helping those who need us most by:
- Advocating for systemic change.
- Collaborating with community organizations.
- Meeting clients where they are.
- Addressing the detrimental impacts of racism.
Status
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
- We rely on donations.
- We rely on legislative funding.
- We do not accept Legal Services Corporation funding, allowing us to:
- Take on class action lawsuits.
- Represent our noncitizen neighbors.
- Pursue legal and policy changes at the state legislature.
